Cerenity Humboldt welcomes new chaplain.

Rev. Steven P. Larson comes to Cerenity Senior Care — Humboldt as our new Spiritual Care Director after serving Redeemer Covenant Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota since 2006 as the Senior Pastor. Pastor Larson has been a credentialed minister through the Evangelical Covenant Church of America since 1991, while serving the Covenant Church in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Besides serving churches here in Minnesota, he has had the opportunity to serve churches on the south side of Chicago, Illinois and in West Michigan.

Rev . Steven Larson

Rev. Larson received his BS in Pastoral Ministry through The University of Northwestern in Roseville, Minnesota and his Masters of Divinity studies have been done at North Park Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. His Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) was done through a chaplain residence at McNeal Hospital on the west side of Chicago in the mid 90’s.

One of Steve’s main gifts in ministry is offering pastoral care throughout the transitions of life. Because the churches he has served have all had a significant senior population, he has been able to develop these skills of care. His greatest desire is to appropriately care for the spiritual needs of the people under his care, while also offering care for the extended family and loved ones.

For rest and renewal, Steve is an accomplished photographer and enjoys capturing life with his camera. His extended family has a home north of Ely, Minnesota where he enjoys getting away with his family. He has been married to Cheryl for 36 years and they have three adult daughters. The last daughter will be getting married at the April this year. He also greatly enjoys his two grandsons, who also live in Brooklyn Park.

It is with excitement and joy that Rev. Larson joins the team of people providing care here at Cerenity Senior Care-Humboldt. Working with the staff and volunteers, he is looking forward to strengthening the network of care within, as well as the connections we have with the broader community.
